PTFE Welding
Our extensive foundation in the processing of PTFE has allowed us the opportunity to perfect our various welding techniques over a broad range of applications. Numerous products are manufactured using our welding processes. These include wash tanks, reactor inserts, complex parts, seals, and envelopes.
By fusing or welding various shapes together the raw material can be made to a near net shape prior to the machining. This eliminates the need to machine large amounts of product eliminating excessive waste in the process. Machining a large or solid part is no longer a consideration. Current customers utilizing our PTFE welding process include semiconductor, chemical processing, petrochemical, medical, and the oil and gas industries.
We offers the following types of PTFE welding:
- Thermal Fusion - This is our patented process by which we are able to take PTFE shapes and thermally fuse them together making large complex parts not typically available in one piece from the conventional processor
- Butt Fusion - our ability to weld two sheets of similar PTFE materials together
- Conventional Welding - Hot air welding using a proprietary welding rod
The PTFE welding process takes place in a dedicated 500 square foot area of our climate controlled manufacturing facility. Trained personnel experienced in all aspects of welding are dedicated to the process. A wide range of in house testing capabilities are available to ensure that your weld meets your rigid requirements.
